Integrity, dedication and authenticity are vital components of being a musician, and a soldier. Nick Sterling, a former infantryman in the U.S. Army and Purple Heart recipient, brings each of these to his music by presenting songs of loss, struggle and love with a delivery that is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. Like many Combat Veterans, transitioning to civilian life was difficult as Sterling searched for that same sense of purpose he had while serving his country. Realizing that music was the mission he had been longing for, he promised to use his talents to continue serving and is donating all of the proceeds from his EP, STAND YOUR GROUND to the Lone Survivor Foundation.
“Serving my country was one of the greatest privileges of my life; it was an honor to be among the small percentage that are able to experience it,” said Sterling. “However, for years after the military, I was lost and looking for a mission. Lone Survivor Foundation helped by allowing me to redirect my focus and realize that affecting others with my music was absolutely bigger than myself.”
With an Americana/Roots sound that is a perfect fit in all corners of the country, Sterling has played numerous venues, festivals and events nationwide. He also regularly performs at and supports Veteran Charity events whenever he has the opportunity. With his ability to put on a high energy folk-rock show with his 5 piece band, an intricate bluegrass trio performance, or an inspiring solo show, Nick Sterling has the ability to captivate any audience. 2018 was a banner year for Nick Sterling as his music reached coast to coast playing all over the country as well as being awarded 2018 Male Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year by the Music Association of Central Texas. 2019 is shaping up to be even bigger as he is already slated to tour nationwide starting off by performing for thousands in Las Vegas.
“This guy is the real deal and will only get better. The sky is the limit for Nick.”-T.W. Sullivan: Booking/Talent Buyer for O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Temple, TX
